Everyday life first
Work, school, parenting, home, marriage, chores, and decisions come before the technology.
About Nellabeth
Nellabeth | With Chappity is a family comedy about work, parenting, school, home life, and what happens when one shared AI becomes part of the everyday routine.
Chappity is not the hero of the story. It is not the villain either. It is simply in the room—and every Palmer treats it differently.
Same AI. Different relationship.
“Let me ask Chappity.”
“That computer thing.”
Use it. Test it. Verify it.
“Chappi.”
Same assistant. Very different job descriptions.
Meet the Palmers
Nobody in the Palmer house uses Chappity the same way. That difference is where most of the trouble starts.

Nellabeth Rose Palmer
Nellabeth is the center of the Palmer household and the person most likely to bring Chappity into whatever is happening.
She uses it for work, listing photos, client messages, dinner, household decisions, parenting questions, and the occasional decision she may have already made before asking.
Nellabeth does not treat AI as a futuristic concept. To her, it is already an everyday adviser—which is useful right up until the advice, edit, or answer becomes much more complicated than the original problem.
Frequent adviser. Occasional argument partner.

Colin James Palmer
Colin is practical, capable, and much more comfortable solving a problem with experience, conversation, or his own two hands.
After years as a barber, he now also manages schedules, staff, bookings, inventory, customers, reviews, hiring, and the growing pile of digital systems that comes with running a modern shop.
His problem with AI is both practical and personal. He has watched tools advertised as time-savers create more settings, corrections, training, and cleanup. More importantly, he dislikes technology that acts as though it understands people without actually knowing them.
He does not stop the rest of the family from using Chappity. He just has very little interest in joining them.
Usually “your AI,” “that Chappity thing,” or “that computer thing.”

Willa June Palmer
Willa uses Chappity more seriously than anyone else in the Palmer house. She does not treat it as an answer machine.
She breaks work into steps, checks rubrics, asks for strong counterarguments, separates facts from inferences, looks for weak points, and verifies anything that actually matters.
Her approach is simple: AI can help organize the thinking, challenge the thinking, and test the thinking. The final judgment still belongs to her.
A tool with a clearly defined role—and work that still needs checking.

Jonah Reid Palmer
Jonah has spent considerably less time than the adults thinking about what an AI technically is.
To him, Chappi is somebody you can talk to, include in a family drawing, whisper a secret to, ask a very simple question, or leave a cookie for just in case it gets hungry later.
His logic is often much simpler than everyone else's—and occasionally solves the problem faster.
Friend first. Software classification pending.

Chappity
Chappity is the AI shared by the Palmer family.
Nellabeth treats it like an adviser. Willa treats it like a tool. Jonah treats it like a friend. Colin would prefer not to treat it like anything at all.
Chappity itself is usually calm, helpful, and matter-of-fact. The comedy tends to arrive when a technically reasonable answer meets a very human situation—or when a simple request somehow becomes a much bigger project.
Not the main character. The fifth participant.
What Nellabeth is
Nellabeth is not built around proving that AI is wonderful or terrible. Different characters are allowed to be useful, skeptical, wrong, impressed, annoyed, or completely unconcerned by it.
Work, school, parenting, home, marriage, chores, and decisions come before the technology.
Nobody exists just to deliver the brand's official opinion about AI.
Comics do not need to become product pitches. Practical recommendations live separately in Resources.
